What in the world?

OK. I drive bus for headstart, right? Where the parents [or grandma or babysitter or whatever] has to come out to put the kid on the bus. So, as I was about ready to leave the Center today, one of the teachers comes out and wants to know if I can take one of the kids righ tback home [uh, hair issues] and I'm like, OK [cuz it's my job]. So, she comes back out with the kid saying that they hadn't been able to get ahold of the mom and did I notice whether the mom was dressed when she put the kid on the bus? Whoa...I stopped looking at what the person was wearing last year when the guys came bounding out of the trailer in pajama bottoms and holding onto his crotch like it was falling off! Very traumatic. So my best response to the teacher this morning was...'uhm, I dunno.' I mean, as long as nothing is falling out, I don't look to see whether they're still in their jammies or not. [and how can you tell anymore anyways?] Anyway, the mom wasn't home and I had to take her back to the Center where I was told that the mom was at her mom's. Why didn't we find that out before hand instead of hoping that she was 'just in the shower'????????? yeah, like that's something I would have wanted to interupt!!

Oye!

It has rained a good bit here in the past few days. It was almost balmy the other night, at 57 degrees! There is a lot of small stream and field flooding. I remember how when I was in school, we always got so worried on the schoolbus when we saw the fields flooded. Like we were afraid it was going to get high enough to come over the road. Well, it liked to in some of the flat places, but never very badly.

Thanksgiving is over. Next on the agenda is Christmas. Sigh. Hanging of the Greens services, and parties and I want to scream at the busy-ness of it all. I mean, I've seen out church schedule and it's very full. God forbid anyone have a crisis during the holiday season...uhm, actually, yeah, You can take that as seriously as it is sarcastic.

Does anyone else get tired of the constant bombardment of Christmas music on the radios? I have nothing against all the carols and hymns and stuff---it's the constant headbanging consistancy of it during this time of year. there is so much of it, that I think we'd be better off sprinkling it throughout the year. But that's just my opinoin.

Ok. Going to go check the email now.

Hair issues for a kid in headstart, Ciera? That sounds quite peculiar.

LOL~ Oh I know the Creepy Crawly kind! Having worked in a Children's Home for a few years. I'm an expert on them!

Bless you Ciera for being a bus driver. What a hard, thankless job that can be. I used to have to take turns with other houseparents to 'ride the bus' for our Children's home because our kids (8 homes times 6-9 kids each ages 4-18) were horrid. You must have a really BIG heart.

Doesn't the Christmas music start around August?

MC - thank you . Will be honest, some days are harder than others but it helps that the kids are soooo lovable, even when they're bad ... and sometimes my heart breaks for them when I see the evidence of the lack of love in their lives.

Ha! Very funny Captain. The Christmas Decorations might be up in stores, but the music doesn't start until Thanksgiving. Family Life Network starts the days after T-day. A whole day to start the season off, then more of a mic the increases until their 3 day marathon and I go mad just thinking about it...crosseyed...

Utenzi - makes your head itch just thinking about it, doesn't it?
I am a little disgusted with the whole commercial aspect. As a mom, I get very stressed about the GIFTS. Too much money.

My favorite Christmas song...

"Grandma got run over by a reindeer" see...now tell me if that doesn't pop into your head again sometime this week!!!!

LOL

For some reason, I never thought my children would get lice. I guess I thought we were above that. Sounds a little snobby huh. Last Christmas, Jessica complained about her head itching. I told her it was probably dry skin. A week or so later she complained again and I checked her head. She had lice. Well, we all snuggle in bed together in the mornings. All four kids and I had lice. I nearly had a nervous breakdown. I guess I needed to be humbled and realize I nor my children are above getting bugs!!!

Daydreamer - I'm not a Mom, but I get stressed about it too. And - while I didn't exactly think of the song - I thought of you when I heard it played on the radio and had a good giggle.

Trinity13 - I think it would be too. Might make some of those August 'dog days' a bit cooler.

Jules - sigh. It's not an easy bug to deal with either.

It's awfully hard to get rid of. I did many, many hours of laundry--bedding, pillows, coats, hats, gloves, etc. I vacummed and vacummed all the carpets and furniture for many hours. Of course, I know I spent 40 hours just digging through everyone's hair. My best friend found them on my head. Bless her heart. Everyone needs a friend that's willing to pick nits off your head. It really was a nightmare. I swore that if I ever knew of anyone that was dealing with them, that I would be there to help.

Amen! to that!!

We went through an entire summer of bug hunting when I was young. Each time we thought we had 'em beat, suprise, surprise, we had not. It's not a memory I treasure!!!

I am however, almost obsessive compulsive about washing my hair though!

Yes, if my head itches or the kids scratch their heads, I feel panicked. I am constantly checking heads now. I think the bug episode left me with an anxiety disorder!!!

My Happy Face

There is something wrong in this world when they steal the magnetic smiley face off the back of your car. Which someone has done. But, I only rolled my eyes heavenward and said, "Whatever!" Must be the neighborhood kids were bored or something.

My Brother's Question and Answer Segment

As you all know from yesterday's post and comments, my brother slammed me on a few of my survey answers. I've left his questions/comments in black and my answers in blue. Letter: Q Now, I wonder why you would like the letter Q. I wonder what Jean-Luc REALLY thinks about that? Uhm---it's the only Star Trek related letter. :P Any comment Jean-Luc?? Body Part on Opposite sex: smile Age you wanna lose your Virginity: How old am I now? LOL Can these two answers really correspond? It sounds to me like you might be lying in one of these. What???? Sex doesn't start with a smile? Besides....you should see his smile. Strawberry or Watermelon: watermelon What! Watermelon! You...You... TRAITOR! :P Kiss or Hug: both Now, this answer seems to correspond well with both your answers in the above mentioned two questions. And your point is? Rap or Punk: rap You really like rap?
