It's a 3 day weekend!

Well, this weekend is a three day one. We're having another 'dark' day on Monday. My body says 'yes, yes, yes' but the paycheck says 'no, no, no!' I guess we're just getting as many cows in. It'll change before long and they'll be working us on Saturdays too. Blech! It's not even supposed to be nice this weekend, it's supposed to start raining sometime tomorrow. Not that I really mind. I don't do anything outside anyway. Not much to do here in the trailer court anyway. I do like riding four wheelers up to his parents; they have lots of woods and land. I don't mind going for walks up there. Have some hard decisions to be making shortly. Mom has found herself living alone. Liston finally moved out on his own. Sara was thinking about moving back in, actually has been living there since January...and for whatever reasons she's not sharing with me, she's changed her mind. If some modifications were made, like ...

Thanksgiving!

Hope all of you who celebrate Thanksgiving is having a happy one! Justin and I will be going to his remaining a little later today. It is usually a nice experience. Missing family today. I remember several Thanksgiving meals growing up that were crowded. Junior and his fam would come, always Glenda. We have one picture of all ten of us kids gathered around our father. It is a treasured picture, as only one other picture like that exists. Have a good day everyone, I just don't have anything else to write at the moment.

Finally!

Finally!! The weekend is here! I am so tired! And I didn't even work 40 hours this week...let;s see...6 on Monday, 7 on Tuesday, 4.5 on Wednesday, 7 on Thursday, 5.5 today{Friday}=30 hours. I left early on Monday for an 'interview' at Dupont, was late on Wednesday, left early today to take Mom to the Packer so she could be "pre-admitted" for her procedure in February. Still, 30 hours in that wretched cold place certainly feels like 40. And then some. Not to mention its COLD on the outside too! The bank temp said 11degrees F on my way home from Mom's. I have new bruises this week from the awkwardness of my work station. Which no one cares about. The Blue Hat, my immediate suprvisor, gave me another product to pull off...so if I have everything, I have the potential to have 8 different products to pull of the line. When I commented about how overwhelmed I was feeling, the answer I got, other than to come to work everyday, was, "If I can do it, I ...

A good thing to hoard...

Hoarding is usually bad. Stacks of newspapers piled high...too many salt and pepper shaker...a small path to the bathroom...but there is one thing that is worth hoarding for a while... Store receipts!!!!!! Case in point. We bought Justin's mother a giftcard for Christmas. Not just any gift card, but an X-Box Live Microsoft points card. 4000 points = $50. It doesn't work. The store won't do anything for us because we don't have the receipt, so we have to deal with Microsoft. Of the two, Microsoft has been a lot nicer to deal with. Argh!!!!

Weekend Away

Well, I'm going away for the weekend. Justin is stayin home. He has to work Saturday, which is good because he called off Monday and Tuesday...I had a good reason to, I was sick. He just wanted to...??? Who knows? My Aunt Norma is in a movie that her church made and I decided I wanted to see it. Mom should be here shortly to pick me up. It's just an overnighter, 3 hours away, but packing can be such a pain. I don't like anything I have picked out to wear for church tomorrow. I know no one cares what I look like, it's a matter of me liking how I look and being comfortable. Ah well, at least I'm feeling better physically. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

A few things

I had a Pampered Chef Party at my home Sunday. Only ten of the thirty some people I invited showed up. Not that any of them even bothered to RSVP. I wonder how many letters a month Dear Abby gets on that subject. Regardless of whether you're coming or not you should call the host and them her know your answer! Anyway. I did pretty well though. Got enough orders that I was able to get $90 worth of free products! Yay! I also got to order 2 items at half price. And got just enough orders to get a free apron as well! Very cool. The entire reason to do Party is the free stuff and the fun time. And good food. The funniest part was the party was crashed by the census taker...but that was ok because she ended up given me an order! I wish I could find a new job. I am getting so tired of the crap here. If it was just me and my perception, that would be on thing. But it's everybody. We all think the same thing about the same boss. But the higher ups won't even listen ...

A lol

Here's something funny that I read in one of the paper's that I plated last week: "The roundest knight at King Arthur's round table was Sir Cumference. He aquired his size from eating too much pi." author unknown I have two more, but I'm too pooped to find them. I think I'm going to bed early.

I take it back!

I take it back! I was going to try to go to work without darvocet...but I've been in so much pain, I think I have to take it back and go back on it. :( My knee has been crunchy...it's like I've got a hand of claws resting on my knee and when I go to stand up, the claws just curl into the bottom of my knee. Which really kind of confuses me b/c I though the shot of cortisone and xylocaine was supposed to fix that. My back has started aching again, too. So I guess the meds were doing something more than just making me happy, huh? It also makes me run off at the mouth, which is a side effect I don't really like. The Easter bunny came late this year. I didn't go out shopping for chocolate and goodies until this afternoon...of course, everything was half off. Still, I ended up spending waaaay too much...like, $40 in less than half an hour. Ok, I got kitty litter and some Pasta Roni's too, so it wasn't all chocolate and sugar. Ok, I've got to take a b...

Name Change

I have finally changed the name of my blog. I've been meaning to ever since I came back from the Ohio conference, because I didn't feel like 'prodigal saint' fit this site anymore...or me I guess. I chose the title I did because it's what I named the little series of "squirrel stories" I wrote for my church a few years back. The squirrel really kind of stole the stories, even though it was never about him but my view of reality...but I have to admit, the squirrel was funny. So, since this blog in particular is about my particular and peculiar reality, as skewed as it often is, I think it fits. I know that I see the world differently, and that this isn't always a bad thing. There you have it. Much to the disaapointment of the squirrel fans, there will be no squirrel stories forthcoming. See, if people really heard what I was saying in those stories, they'd know that the squirrel was just the comic relief because I was really sharing my view of the c...

False Alarm

Apparently "drafts" are counted by the blogger counter, because when I was double checking my count, I found three old drafts in my files and after I deleted them...I'm like, at 297 [this one]. Which is ok, because I couldn't think of anything "great" for number 300. So now I've got a few more posts to think about it a bit. Anybody have anything they'd want to see for a 300th post? I could list 300 random things about me. I don't know if I know 300 random things about me though...I wonder...hmmmm. Any thoughts you guys?

Sighing Deeply

I have one more subject sparked by the book I read that I want to post about....but later. Right now I'm just writing to say that I'm tired and can't sleep. Perhaps it is the daylight...perhaps it is the PMS sparked depression, that even had me shedding tears at work last night...Oh gosh, don't tell Jerry...Perhaps it is just the relentless engine of my mind that can't seem to shut down and stop thinking. It's not even like I'm thinking about anything all that important, that's the part that gets me! Of course, I've also been working on my Trek story and I seem to be on a creative streak. I've even written and posted two poems {http://poemsbyraslater.blogspot.com} in as many days. At least, I think it's been only two days....I dunno...days can kind of run together when you work nightshift...especially when you can't sleep. I think maybe I'll try resting here again in a bit...ok, maybe now... :) Cuz I'm even too tired to remember ...

New Job

Sort of! My first night out in the plateroom was Friday...and it went well...sort of! Three of our commercial jobs wouldn't go through the computer...I had the big boss and the IT guy there before it was said and done. Strangely enough, whatever the problem was, wasn't effecting the Daily paper at all. Wierd. I've cut my self once, but that is to be expected since the plate edges are very thin and very sharp...not sure why they're called a 'plate' since they are a rectangular sheet of metal. And when the editor wanted to resend that one page...after one of the four plates had already been put on the press...I should have just told him that it was already on the press. Kirk didn't seem too upset--with me at least. I hope he wasn't. Kirk is the one pressmen that I don't want to upset...not that I want to upset any of them. He's just my favorite one. Jean-Luc is off for a couple of weeks...I think he said he was going to Iceland and Norway...

2 Years

Jean-Luc is right...I just had my 2nd blogiversary!! My how time does fly! And I completely missed it! In other news---I'm an aunt again [and still]. My newest nephew was born yesterday....Gideon James...7lbs3oz and 20in. I'll have to see if Cliff won't let me post his pic. My nephew Charlie had a boy a little while back too..Braylon James...I forget his info right now..but he's another cutie. Selfish me wonders if I'll ever get to have one of my own. Sigh. I was going to post another segment of my trek story today...but I forgot to bring my folder with me...sorry Jean-Luc... I might post more later....I dunno...I'm tired...

Better

Well, I'm feeling a little better. Since I fell Sunday morning, and it turned into a "darvocet" kind of pain, I decided to bite the bullet and go see my chiropractor. Long over due apparently, cuz he's there poking around and says, "Is there any part that doesn't hurt?" My answer: "Not really." So, I've been adjusted from one end to the other and feel a little better. Survived working FingerLakes with the "Daily Bitch". I can call her that becuz she calls herself that and is proud of the title. Twit. Have the next two nights off and I'm gonna relax!

Why I like blogging...

I like blogging because it opens the world up to me....it gives me friends outside of my 'niche'....I meet new people who challenge me and encourage me and bring new ways to look at things. Case in point: Mimi's comment a few posts down. She SO encouraged me :D Just when I feel forgotten...I am reminded I'm not...

Rural PA

It all pretty much looks like this. Rolling fields. Farms dotting the horizon. This was taken just up the road from where my Mom lives...was coming home after Easter dinner and saw this and thought it would make a good shot. However, it was on a one-time use camera so the range was rather limited. Still not too bad.

The redneck way of life

This was taken on Easter Sunday. It's a picture of my youngest brother .... stapling a torn seam in his pants . He's 21 and did this right in front of our mother. Mother wanted the picture taken to show a slice of the 'redneck' way of life...but I'm not sure if it is. I think my brother is just odd. I mean, wouldn't it make more sense to just give the jeans up...or give them to Mom to see if she can't mend them? Noooo....let's staple it. Goofball. :) Bob fans: go here !

Isn't She Cute?

Isn't she the cutest? Well, so, ok, I'm partial to her. This is "my" dog...Little Bear. I got her shortly after high school graduation, even though Dad said, "No dogs" when we left to house to go look at her. I was depressed that year, quite badly. I had just been kicked out of college for being depressed, and was feeling quite the failure. And I thank God that this pup came into my life. She gave me friendship, and someone else to think about other than myself. Little Bear was never able to forgive me when I went out and got a real job, and so became my mother's dog. She wouldn't give me the time of day for years. Until I moved out on my own...now she can't get enough of me when I visit. How typical! She's going on 12 years-old now, which is like .. alot .. in dog years. She only ever had one litter up puppies...underneath my bed...in the middle of the January 1996 flood. She was fixed shortly after that, which is why she's a little bi...

Happy Blogaversary!!

While this particular blog that you're reading isn't a year old, today is my one year blogaversary. Has it really been a year since I started posting my ventings, my angst, my dreams and hopes online? It's only been since September that I've been writing here in My Secret Place, but I started the Amazing Grace one on April 29th 2005. My first post read: "Wow {that was the most impressive title!!} I have no idea what I am doing...this is an experiment of grand porportions. I am a nobody from nowhere...knowing that I am a somebody...because I know that Jesus died on the cross for me...We'll see what comes from this. In the meantime, as Chief says in his email signoffs....Blessings!" Changes since then: I no longer talk with Chief at all...he's the praise and worship leader of my church who thought I was propositioning him last August. {eyeball roll} What an ego---I was so very tempted that I would never do that to him {or with him} as I had a full blown ...
