Happy Blogaversary!!

While this particular blog that you're reading isn't a year old, today is my one year blogaversary. Has it really been a year since I started posting my ventings, my angst, my dreams and hopes online? It's only been since September that I've been writing here in My Secret Place, but I started the Amazing Grace one on April 29th 2005.

My first post read:

"Wow {that was the most impressive title!!}
I have no idea what I am doing...this is an experiment of grand porportions.
I am a nobody from nowhere...knowing that I am a somebody...because I know that Jesus died on the cross for me...We'll see what comes from this.
In the meantime, as Chief says in his email signoffs....Blessings!"

Changes since then: I no longer talk with Chief at all...he's the praise and worship leader of my church who thought I was propositioning him last August. {eyeball roll} What an ego---I was so very tempted that I would never do that to him {or with him} as I had a full blown crush on another blogger.

What has come of my blogging? Friends. I have a circle of friends all to my own.

Daydreamer I found when my brother mentioned her blog to me. I keep going back because she accepts me like I accept her, without strings, without expectations, with love.

Mimi I must have met somehow through Cpt. Picard's blog. She's great fun and a great encourager.

Kat and I have a few things in common...and she's only a couple months older than I am.

Fluke is a constant source of amusement, even though he's taking a break from blogging right now.

Jean-Luc-----ah what to say about him? He's a great friend, English to boot, and his one-year blogaversary is tomorrow! Imagine that coincidence will you? We found each other's blogs somewhere in the beginning of May...my first comment on his blog was May 2nd to be precise as Data. If you haven't already, y'all be sure to hop on over there tomorrow and wish him a happy Blogaversary will you? Tell him Ciera sent you. ;-)

I really enjoy blogging, as there have been so many different people I've met. The cross-cultural thing is really cool.

You've been here with me through my rollercoaster moments...have endured my venting and psychotic moments when I thought the world was ending...have listened while I cried on your collective shoulders about things that have depressed me...and y'all keep coming back!

And I keep making new friends like Paige! Not forgetting to mention Utenzi who pops in once in a while.

And if you're here from Michele's, who's weekend game I love even though my brother Cliff just doesn't share my enthusiasm, then you know one other thing I like about blogging...uhm, yeah, the weekend game.

Oh, I also like those stupid blogthing tests and meme's...

Wishing you a very Happy Blogaversary, dear Ciera! It was a wonderful coincidence that we started blogging within a day of each other. The fact that you found mine soon after was excellent as well. Thank you for the mention in your post, and more importantly, thank you for being you.

A Situation

Ok. I need to think out loud here for a bit while I wait on email. I have a situation going on that could become tough. A bit of background: About 2 years ago, a single man started coming to my church and showed an interest in me. It lasted about a month and a half, with him giving me mixed signals all the time...since I have been praying for a husband for a while now, at the time, it seemed like my prayers were being answered despite the confusion. It all came down one night about midnight in his parking lot and I haven't talked to him since. He only stayed around for another 7-8 months, and those were very hard months. He lied to me and mislead me, often. Like it was second nature for him. It was made even more traumatic by a discovery of mine on a website shortly after he left the area. In September 2005, I had a blind date that was far from fruitful. My singleness and desire to be married is known to all in church, and so... To the present: Yes, another single man has walked in

Types of Friends

The other night, the friend that I watch tv and movies with was sharing something she had learned from a MOPS meeting. About the two different types of friends. Since that discussion, I've realized that there are at least 2 more types of friends and goofball that I am, I thought I'd share it all with you! Don't you feel lucky and special? :) 1. Mushroom Friends : These friends spring up over night and are in our lives just for a season. Kind of like the friends I made in school. The season is way over as I didn't even get Christmas cards from them this year [yes, I sent them cards]. 2. Oak Tree Friends : These friendships develop slowly, starting out small and laying down deep root systems. They last forever no matter how far apart the friends grow; time, distance, oceans and death cannot break the bond of friendship. They are the kind that years after being out of communication, if they heard you were in trouble {death in family, illness, etc...} they would drop stuff

My Happy Face

There is something wrong in this world when they steal the magnetic smiley face off the back of your car. Which someone has done. But, I only rolled my eyes heavenward and said, "Whatever!" Must be the neighborhood kids were bored or something.
