short and sweet

I over oiled my car. I didn't mean to...honest...But my oil light flickered on, and it had that sound that it always has when it needs oil and I've let it get a little too low. Well, I didn't actually check the dipstick...and just put oil in. And then left the oil cap OFF and drove almost 25 miles...had oil everywhere and I do mean everywhere...it was running down the front bumper. So, thinking that like the last time I did this [over a year ago] that I had lost all my oil, once I found my cap [it was right where I left it] I put more oil in. And then my car wouldn't run right...sluggish...and now it just won't start. I thought for sure I had blown the engine. But no...I had TOO much oil in it. So it sits in front of my boss's house...waiting for someone with the right tool to pull the spark plugs and the time. And the knowledge...b/c Jerry spent hours working on a part that my car doesn't even have...????...Lord only knows what he's done to it. So, I'm stranded at Mom's again. I've threatened/joked about moving into Kirk's little cottage he has behind his house...to which he says, "You'll have to bring your own bed." I've got that. apparently though, the last girl who wanted to move into his cottage/shed he outright said, "No." So I guess he must like me a little bit!

Prayer request: my friend Paige's Mom had a brain aneurysm late last night. A bad one. They had to put her into a coma b/c paralysis had begun by the time she got to the hospital. Her mom also lives in Texas, which makes it harder for my friend.

I have to get to bed now. More later.

You can tell Paige that I'll be thinking about her mother.

thnx. Good news: my brother got around to changing the spark plugs in my car, and it started back up...yay! Now to fix the cv joint and clutch. Sad news: Paige's mom didn't make it...she was declared dead b/c of no brain activity...and when they took her off the machines, her body hadn't quite caught up to her brain. So, they're not expecting what left of her to make it through the night :'( Still, she didn't want to grow old though, and she's been planning for her death for years now...and she knew Jesus...so perhaps she is happier where she's at now?

Sorry about the loss.

ok, wait a sec... you did this overoil thing... twice?

really?

The dipstick is there for a reason other than ignoring and then later mentioning casually in conversation about oil overfilling. Will this lesson stick?

Ciera, this makes me think that perhaps I should explain the tent-pitching lesson: pitch on a hill that sheds water, not in a hole that collects it.

I thought the dipstick was for playing swords......

No...I didn't over oil twice...sorry I wasn't clear on that. What I did twice was put oil in and leave the cap off. I had to buy a new cap that time. Actually ended up getting laid that time...but that's another story...

And I should think that I've learned my lesson about putting oil in without checking the sword thingy...I mean dipstick...b/c people have been like a broken record telling me that.

Sheesh...the harder I try to do the right thing...the worse I seem to mess up. Where can I go to quit???

And I wasn't in charge of the tent pitching...and if I have my way...I'll never be in charge of the tent pitching...I'll leave it in the hands of people who've done it before...oh no wait....that was my mistake this time.....

and we were on a slight hill...I was just at the bottom of it where the water collected...

this makes me thing that perhaps the next time I need a tent pitched, maybe I should call you??
